Introduction The isolation of nucleic acids derived from archived clinical material can provide a powerful tool in studies of diseased tissue at both the genomic and gene expression level. Standard preservation techniques for storage of biological tissue samples involve formalin- fixation and paraffin-embedding (FFPE). While the high reactivity of these chemicals makes them ideal for maintaining tissue structure, isolating genomic material for molecular analysis can be challenging due to: (1) trapping and modification of nucleic acids in extensive protein- protein and protein-nucleic acid crosslinks, (2) fragmentation and chemical modification of the RNA or DNA that occurs during the FFPE process ...
Identification of molecular biology : It is the science deals with macromolecules and to understand the five basic behaviors patterns(growth , division , specialization ,movement and interaction)in terms of the fine molecules responsible for them including (DNA ,RNA and Protein) • Freidrich Miescher (1869) : was a Swiss physician and biologist. He was the first researcher who isolate and identify nucleic acid. It was a phosphate-rich chemicals, which he called nuclein (now nucleic acids), from the nuclei of white blood cells without knowing it responsibility about inheritance. so he knew much of the nucleic acid chemistry but their function remained unknown till ...
